Hodgdon Pyrodex RS Rifle/Shotgun Powder 1 lbs. was designed specifically to use in black powder cartridge arms and muzzleloading. The powder burns extremely clean and compared to black powder there is less fouling. In addition to being made to use in virtually every caliber of percussion muzzleloading shotguns and rifles the powder is ideal for muzzleloading pistols as well as small-bore muzzleloading rifles and cap and ball revolvers.

This powder can be compared to 2F black powder as far as the size of particle and replaces FFFg black powder when volumetrically measured using a measure specifically for black powder.
