With the great looks quality and accuracy of the ever popular Thompson Center Encore ProHunter™ this muzzleloader combines the advanced features of the ProHunter rifle with Thompson Center’s solid reputation for durability and performance in the field. The T/C Pro Hunter FS is a Firestick ignition variation of the ProHunter XT muzzleloader. This model ships with a .50 caliber 20-inch muzzleloader barrel equipped from the factory.
This muzzleloader utilizes the Federal® FireStick™ system which takes the guesswork out of muzzleloading and increases safety and simplicity. The ProHunter FS muzzleloader is a great gun for beginners and experienced shooters alike. This .50 caliber muzzleloader is one of the easiest to load requires the least equipment and accessories and is incredibly accurate.
The Federal™ FireStick is a vital component to this groundbreaking new muzzleloader. The FireStick is a plastic capsule that holds pre-measured powder charges. The ability to have identical charges on every shot allows for a more consistent velocity spread which increases accuracy and dependability. Since the FireSticks are only used once there is no real cleaning involved in the breech area which speeds up reloading as well. This technology reduces the need for many common accessories which makes it much easier for beginners to get into the sport. Powder measures powder flasks nipple picks speed loaders cappers parts soakers and granular or pelletized powders are not needed with this muzzleloader which can save hunters lots of money when they are first getting into muzzleloading. With this new muzzleloader all you’ll need to carry in the field are a couple primers bullets FireSticks and a bullet starter!
Other notable features include the muzzleloader’s improved handling and recoil reduction system made possible by the FlexTech™ stock and forend. Inside the FlexTech stock are four Energy Burners™ along with the recoil pad allowing the stock to compress slightly when fired helping to reduce felt recoil by forty-two percent. Additionally the ProHunter FS muzzleloader does not require a breech plug due to the FireStick ignition.
The ProHunter FS™ muzzleloader is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. It comes standard with Williams™ fiber optic sights along with a Swing Hammer® that can be conveniently positioned toward either side of the frame enabling easier access to the hammer under mounted scopes. Weighing in at just 7 pounds the ProHunter FS features a 14-inch length of pull crisp trigger and deadly accuracy.
To protect the muzzleloader against inclement weather Thompson Center has added its tough-as-nails finish WeatherShield®. When applied to the barrel receiver and other rifle critical parts the WeatherShield coating adds an extra level of protection against corrosion while extending the durability and life of the muzzleloader.
